During the period of modernity, little attention has been paid to the unavoidable necessity of religious original truth. With the views of some thinkers like Voegelin, however, the world brought to bay by clamor of baseless truth of modernity has paid more attention to religious truth. Since as Alice Sandus, one of Voegelin’s has said: with the extension of the crisis of modern baseless truth, the West has been made more aware of Voegelin’s views. Now one can ask: why has Voegelin’s thought been of such an effect? It can probably be claimed that the appearance of theoretical and practical harms as well as the vital effects of man’s been connected to transcendental aspects of truth, have been main causes for this turning. This paper has sought to survey this hypothesis.
