Relativity and the Theory of I`tibariat; A Solution for the Challenge of Moral Relativism of The Theory of I`tibaryat in the Light of Reflection on the Anthropological Aspect of The Theory

Abstract
Allameh Tabatabaei's theory of I`tibaryat is one of his most important philosophical innovations. The way Allameh views I`tibaryat, and especially the two I`tibars of goodness and ugliness, has led to the assumption that this theory leads to moral relativism. For this reason, some scholars have sought to respond to the challenge of relativism in this theory. Some of the responses distance from the theory, while others have been seriously criticized. By reflecting on the anthropological dimension of the theory of I`tibaryat and also considering the anthropology of the late Allamah Tabataba'i - which is derived from a comprehensive perspective that goes beyond the theory of I`tibaryat and is based on his divine wisdom - it becomes clear that human truth has a single origin, and a specific perfection, and goal, and that man`s ability of making mental consideration is only related to the earthly world, which is in the middle of the human path. Given that I`tibaryat have real effects, it is possible to judge different I`tibaryat in terms of bringing them closer or putting them further away to the goal of human truth, which is the state of human perfection (the state of guardianship). This possibility of judgment, which is provided by considering the effects of I`tibaryat for actualizing human developmental potential, frees this theory from the accusation of various relativism and, in addition to being more consistent with the theory of I`tibaryat, avoids literature that is itself based on I`tibaryat and norms.
